Terms of Service

DamnChess is a free, skill-based chess game offered for entertainment only. It is a public alpha and may change or pause at any time. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

1. Entertainment only — no cash value

In-game tokens are a play currency with no monetary or real-world value. They cannot be purchased, sold, transferred between players, redeemed, or cashed out. Nothing in DamnChess is gambling: there is no buy-in of real money and no prize of real value. The doubling cube and stakes move play tokens only.

2. Your account

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your password secure. Choose a username that is not abusive or impersonating. One person should not run multiple accounts to manipulate matchmaking, ratings, or leaderboards.

3. Fair play

Games must be played by you, unaided. Using a chess engine or another person to choose your moves, or colluding to transfer tokens or ratings, is prohibited. We analyse completed games for engine correlation and may queue suspicious games for review. Confirmed cheating can reverse a result, restore the opponent, and suspend the offending account.

4. Acceptable use

Do not harass other players in chat or messages, attempt to disrupt or overload the service, or reverse the service for abuse. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.

5. Alpha service, no warranty

The service is provided “as is” during the alpha. Accounts, tokens, ratings, and games may be reset or lost. We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law — note there is nothing of monetary value at stake.

6. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued play after an update means you accept the revised terms. Paid features are not offered yet; if they are introduced later, additional terms and disclosures will apply before any charge.
